Yes. I have glaucoma.
Take a deep breath. This is not a cancer.
I went to see my eye doctor, and I had abnormally high eye pressure. He rerun the exam, but the pressure didn't decrease at all. He ran more tests and confirmed that I have glaucoma. The doctor freaked me out for a moment, though- he said glaucoma was #1 leading cause of blindness in America, that if untreated, I could go blind in as soon as 6 months. :S Once you lose vision from glaucoma, he said, you can't get it back, because it's the optic nerve that is destroyed, which once dies, it dies forever.
So, all the headache was from high eye pressure! And also my worsening eyesight. My eyesight now definitely isn't good, but I'm not blind. My eye doctor said I could keep my current eyesight as long as I keep up with the treatment which will keep my IOP level (Intra ocular pressure=eye pressure) normal.
I'm rather glad that I found out about glaucoma now than later when I am close to blind-when I can't get my lost vision back. Now I need to keep up with my eye drops and I shall be fine!
